Sanjeev Kapoor's Options at the Dubai. - Options.

We did Friday Brunch here and it was what it was; a nice selection of well presented food with plenty of choice to go at.

We were on the 11am sitting so it was really quiet at first and the food was nice and fresh. The place soon started getting quite busy but this wasn't an issue. This is more about the being there than the actual food as it is not the cheapest place for brunch.

Went for the brunch on a Groupon deal - price was about right.

We wanted to celebrate a family member's 60th Birthday and planned a dinner party here for our group of ten whose age range was from 29 years to 62 and we choose Options chiefly because of its good food and that our diverse age group would be comfortable here.

Needless to say Options did not disappoint and everyone had a good time right from the time the champagne flowed to the excellent starters and the main course of which we went in more towards the Indian favorite rice dish of Biryani as they are having a on going Biryani Festival here.

Our group enjoyed evey moment here including the efficent service and the mix of bollywood music with a great DJ doing her duty well - We even has some of our songs requested played in Marathi - also a compliment to the Piano man who also played very well.

Food was amazing and the entertainment was bollywood-esque.

I had some clients from Europe to entertain and dine, and I chose Sanjeev Kapoor's Options at the Dubai World Trade Center Tower. Beginning from the the reservation (it tends to be crowded after 8PM) the service and call handling was cheerful and efficient.

The food was super - we had a starters (mix platter - I must praise the King prawns-just perfect) and soup - the lentil soup was universally praised, and also a magnificent choice - Dum ke Kabab - a vegetarian dish of spinach cooked in 'Dum' with spices - was 'par excellance', even better than the meat dishes, my guests felt. The rest of the dishes chosen (entirely) by our guests were the common ones - butter chicken (i wish it were a tad bit more spicy) Rogan Josh and a tasty black lentils curry, accompanied by Naan, followed by the ubiquitous Mutton Biryani, universally liked by all Brits. We avoided dessert as it was just too filling, and people were girth-conscious.

There was a piano playing in the corner, and the maestro (Mr. Marshall, ex-Taj Bombay) played sublime Jazz and accepted song requests, too. The decor was tasteful, sophisticated, dark and just about discreet - overall was a completely enjoyable experience. Service was very efficient, and thankfully enough the waiters were very knowledgeable about the ingredients of whatever was there on the menu. Alcoholic drinks are served as well, though I do wish, however, they had a larger selection of mocktails on their menu cards.

Overall, we had a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.

The restaurant is way Overrated due to the fact that Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor is associated with it.

The restaurant was either understaffed or incompetent to handle a big group.

The staff was clueless how to handle the guests request.

- We ordered both Veg & Non Veg dishes as some of the group members were core vegetarians.

- Initially only Non-Veg Dishes were served, only after requesting again & again for the veg dishes were served.

- Daal were served directly over the plates, had to ask for bowl.

- Maybe due to bread were cold & incompetent service the food may had tased not that good.

- The taste was regular & even the presentation was not original or innovative.

- Just request your staff to smile while interacting with guests, a smile may change so much for the experience of guests.

- Don't accept groups, if you cannot manage to serve them.
